Frequently Asked Questions(FAQs)
What is the Back-to-School Fair? The Back-to-School Fair, begun in 2003, is a communtiy-wide old fashioned fair held in Falls Park located in the center of Pendleton. The mission of the fair is to raise money to buy backpacks and school supplies for the children participating in the free and reduced lunch program in the South Madison School Corporation. When is the Back-to-School Fair? The 2010 Back-to-School Fair will be held on Saturday, August 20th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Falls Park. Who organizes the Back-to-School Fair? The Back-to-School Fair is a ministry of South Madison County churches in cooperation with local businesses, clubs, and charities. Pendleton Christian Church manages the planning of the event. Who sponsors the Back-to-School Fair?In past years, the Back-to-School Fair has been sponsored by over one hundred local businesses, organizations, and individuals in addition to the thousands of people who come the day of the event to help raise money for the children. What direct impact will this fundraising event have on the community?Since it's beginning, the Back-to-School Fair has raised enough money to provide free backpacks and school supplies to thousands of children. There are some operating costs to the fair, however there are no administrative or management fees.
